To Grow or Not to Grow?

I LOVE growing (and using) herbs as you can tell, but there are some herbs you should buy if you need a lot of them.

  • Bay Leaves - This tasty but slow growing herb. Handy to have a bush, but otherwise, you should buy.
  • Basil - Not the easiest herb to grow, and you will need a lot to get a good, strong flavour.
  • Parsley - Also not an easy herb, and won't keep up if you constantly need large amounts.
  • Thyme - Tasty, but usually doesn't grow that big. Buying is the best option.
I am NOT saying you shouldn't grow these herbs, and they enhance a lot when added to food, but if you want a large amount for a dinner party (and such) then you should buy them. All these herbs travel well (so should be rather fresh in the shops)

Top Tip:
Although it is tempting to buy a mini shrub you can get for a pound in Tesco, apparently they are less flavoursome than a bunch you get in a bag.
