Know Thine Owls

With darkness creeping ever closer and the days ever shorter, thou shouldst know thine owls.

Thou hast two main owls. The Tawny and The Barn.

Thy statistics : 
Barn Owl

Latin name: Tyto Alba 

Can be seen hunting in daylight or nighttime. 
Best seen at dusk
Dines upon: Voles, Shrews, Mice.
Call: Kheeeeeep  
tone /  (escalating)
(long and high pitched)



Tawny Owl
Latin name: Strix Aluco

Often heard calling at night, rarely seen
Dines upon: Reptiles, worms,  rodents, small birds (!).
Call: Hoohoohoo Hooo. Hwit Toooo
I've heard it calling outside my bedroom window lots of times. 

Little Owl
Latin name: Athene Noctua 
Often seen perching on telegraph poles or strong branches in daylight (!)
Dines upon: Small mammals, worms, beetles.
Call: Daa woo 
tone / / (both going up)
(sounds startled, high pitched)
Tiny!!
